Spectacular ethnic food, a great night with La Cage Aux Folles, two FPL power outages, the Manatee Players' Fundraising Dinner and a wedding cake

What a whirlwind week this has been! I was very impressed with how tastefully & smoothly the Manatee Players pulled off their fundraiser at Bonni Bakes on Saturday night. It has motivated me to allocate one evening a month to a local non-profit organization for a fundraising evening at Bonni Bakes...no charge for the venue. You may, or may not know that before I became a baker I was a clinical social worker/therapist and the President of United Way for three counties in North Carolina. I know how tough it is to raise money in an uncertain economy, despite the increased need for services. So, if you're on the Board or an active member of a local charity and want to take advantage of this opportunity, get in touch with me. Until then, I look forward to spending a few hours sitting quietly on my flight to NYC Monday. I'll be back in time to cook on Friday & Saturday, but why wait...check out what Amy & Steph have planned for lunch this week.
